Pet Friendly Rugs with a Mission: Lany Space Joins Hands with Potcake Place Rescue

At Lany Space, we've always believed that comfort begins from the ground up. It's where pets curl up after long walks, where kids scatter their toys, and where love quietly settles in.

Recently, we received a heartfelt message from Dr. Jill Caruso, a veterinarian in Brooklyn and the founder of Faithful Friends Animal Hospital. During a trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands, she was deeply moved by the number of stray dogs wandering the island without care or shelter. That experience led her to connect with Potcake Place K9 Rescue, a nonprofit organization working to bring those dogs to safety and find them loving homes. Dr. Caruso is now organizing a fundraiser to support their work, and she kindly invited Lany Space to take part.

These rugs were included in carefully assembled raffle baskets, helping to raise essential funds for Potcake Place K9 Rescue. Every dollar raised directly supports veterinary care, transportation, food, and vital supplies, paving the way for rescued dogs to find loving, permanent homes.

Butch is calm, sweet, and loves gentle cuddles. Alphie, with his spirited and energetic nature, adores squeaky toys and comfy rugs. Watching their transformation from stray pups into loving companions is a reminder of why rescue efforts matter deeply to all of us at Lany Space.

Who Is Potcake Place K9 Rescue?

Potcake Place K9 Rescue is a nonprofit organization based in the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands. Dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to reduce the number of homeless ''potcake'' dogs, mixed-breed dogs native to the Caribbean islands. Due to limited veterinary resources on the islands, many of these gentle animals face severe health challenges.

Supported entirely by generous donations, Potcake Place provides essential medical care, nutritious food, loving foster homes, and ultimately, adoption opportunities in North America. Their unwavering commitment has brought thousands of island dogs to safety, forever changing their lives.

The fundraiser took place on October 19th, 2025, at Sirico's Caterers in Brooklyn, New York. Organized by Faithful Friends Animal Hospital, the event aimed to raise awareness and support for Potcake Place K9 Rescue, a nonprofit helping stray dogs from the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Lany Space proudly donated 18 rugs, valued at $4,794, to be included in raffle baskets prepared for the event. Each basket contributed to the fundraising efforts, with proceeds going toward medical care, transportation, and adoption services for rescued dogs. After the event, we received photos of Butch and Alphie: two six-month-old island dogs currently staying at Faithful Friends and looking for a permanent home. Seeing their hopeful eyes reminded us why this donation mattered.
