An Interview with Elizabeth Bay
Q: Hello Elizabeth, how would you describe your design style?
Vintage, French, colorful, and very feminine!
Q: How have your personal experiences or personality influenced your design ideas?
I had a Paris-themed room when I was 10, which pretty much decided my aesthetic for the rest of my life. Also, my brother is a pilot, and travel is one of my main passions, so my love for tickets and all ephemera really bleeds into my design style.
Q: How do you incorporate your personal style into home design projects?
My personal design is all throughout my house! My favorite gallery wall has framed ephemera from my fiancƩ and I's trips, concerts, camping expeditions and more. I've hand-painted 90% of the frames in our house, and a few of the art pieces as well!
Q: What drew you to collaborate with our rug brand?
I love Lany Space's style, ethos, and entire energy. This felt like a natural and symbiotic collaboration for my small business!
Q: What was your first impression of Lany Space rugs and our style?
Colorful-like me!
Q: Could you share the story or concept behind the collection you designed for us?
I've already mentioned tickets and my habit of hanging on to them a couple times, so there should be no mystery as to why we chose that as one of our main designs! As for the cherry rug, cherries have been a huge source of inspiration for both me personally and for my business Elizabeth Bayā to the point that I've got them tattooed on each arm.
Q: Among the pieces in these collections, which design is your favorite, and why?
Definitely the ticket because I can imagine people decorating around it in such unique ways.
Q: If you could sum up this collection in three words, what would they be?
Cheeky, playful, sweet.
