Lany Space x Juan Marquez: Big Color, Maximalist Style, Real Life Homes

Kerry Wang | February 28, 2026

If you love maximalist homes and enjoy personalizing your space, you're going to love this collection. We're so excited to introduce Juan Marquez, one of our closest brand friends for the past three years. Juan Marquez is a DIY home creator who lives in bold color and hands-on decor. He loves making things by hand whenever he can, and you can feel that same creative energy in every rug design. When Lany Space was just getting started, we met Juan, who was also just beginning his journey as a social media creator. Now, we've come full circle: Juan has become our rug designer, turning that shared moment into a collection you can actually bring home. Ready to see what inspired the collection and which rug Juan calls his favorite?

An interview with Juan Marquez

Q: How would you describe your design style?

A: A: Maximalist and colorful, but still structured and refined.

Q: How have your personal experiences or personality influenced your design ideas?

A: Yes and no! I definitely pulled inspiration from things that I personally love and enjoy. But also wanted to make sure that there was a little bit of something for everyone, extending my brain and ideas outside of what my typical style would be for those that don't have my exact decor taste.

Q: How do you incorporate your personal style into home design projects?

A: It's what I eat, live, and breathe. I love to personalize things and make things by hand, so whenever I have an opportunity to do so, I do.

Q: What drew you to collaborate with our rug brand?

A: Lany Space was the firsttttt ever brand I partnered with when I only had 400 followers on TikTok, for me it made so much sense to bring that full circle with a collection that people could purchase and have a piece of my heart and brain in their homes.

Q: What was your first impression of Lany Space rugs and our style?

A: Loved how colorful and maximalist everything is. it definitely disrupts the rug space in such a good way that I think was needed.

Q: Could you share the story or concept behind the collection you designed for us?

A: I wanted to capture the spirit of my past, present, and future projects, translating them into bold, abstract designs that bring warmth, polish, and joy to any space no matter your style.

Q: If you could sum up this collection in three words, what would they be?

A: Refined, abstract, and eclectic.

Juan Marquez's Designs for Lany Space

Modern Abstract Wavy Area Rug by Juan Marquez

Meet the Modern Abstract Wavy Area Rug, available in deep green or warm orange, with smooth, flowing shapes that feel calm but still make a statement. The wavy form adds an easy rhythm to the room, like a modern art print stretched across the floor. Sized at 7'×10', it is made for open living rooms, quiet bedrooms, or that clean, gallery style space you want to keep uncluttered. Style it with modern or minimalist interiors, think low profile furniture, light wood, and simple decor, then choose green for a grounded mood or yellow for a brighter pop.

Pink Modern Gradient Heart Rug by Juan Marquez

The Pink Modern Gradient Heart Rug is the kind of piece that instantly changes the mood of a room. The soft pink heart shape and smooth gradient feel playful, but still clean and modern, so it reads like art, not a cute gimmick. It comes in 3'×3', 4'×4', and 6'×6', which makes it easy to drop into a bedroom, reading corner, or a creative space that needs a little warmth. Pair it with modern or expressive decor, then echo the pink with one small detail like a cushion, a print, or a vase to make it feel intentional. It‘s an easy way to make a corner feel styled in seconds.

Earth Tone Abstract Circle Rug by Juan Marquez

The Earth Tone Abstract Circle Rug is all about layered circles and soft color fades, like warm sunlight passing through tinted glass. The earthy palette feels grounded, but the overlap keeps it modern and a little hypnotic. Sized at 4'×7', it's perfect for a reading corner, beside a sofa, or anywhere you want a calm focal point without loud patterns. Style it with contemporary or minimalist spaces, then add warm wood, linen textures, and a simple lamp to match the cozy tones. If you had to pick one color from this rug to repeat in your room, would you go with the amber, the olive, or the soft coral?

Vintage Checkered Rug by Juan Marquez

The Vintage Checkered Rug comes in two totally different moods, Earthy Brown for a grounded, classic look, and Rust Red for a warmer, bolder punch. The soft grid and layered blocks feel retro, but the clean layout keeps it polished and easy to live with. Available in 5'×7' and 7'×10', it’s a great fit for dining rooms, home offices, or studios where you want structure and color at the same time. If you already have warm wood in the space, this rug ties everything together fast, then all you need is one simple accent that matches a square and the whole room looks intentional.

Final Touch

What I love about Lany Space x Juan Marquez is that it feels like real home decorating, not a fantasy room. Juan makes things by hand and loves to personalize, and you can feel that mindset in this collection. Each rug gives you a clear starting point, then you can layer in your own touches over time, one small change at a time, without needing a full renovation or a huge budget. If you had to choose just one piece to refresh your space this week, which one would it be?
