Designer Self-Introduction
Q: How would you describe your design style?
I would describe my style as playful, colorful, and nostalgic. Iām drawn to retro aesthetics: vintage color palettes, funky patterns, and those old-school vibes. Iām an end-of-the-80s, start-of-the-90s kid, and I think that era really shapes the way I see the world. I enjoy looking through old family photos, seeing relatives in big glasses and funky outfits really inspires me. Modern, sleek designs donāt resonate with me as much because they lack the warmth and character I find in those earlier decades. I aim to bring that sense of whimsy and imperfection into my work.
Q: How have your personal experiences or personality influenced your design ideas?
My background in fashion has also influenced my approach. Iām naturally drawn to patterns and repetition. Fashion taught me to focus on composition and balance. On a personal level, Iām deeply nostalgic. If I could, Iād live in an untouched, retro house, surrounded by the warmth and charm of that era. I try to reflect that same feeling in my art, not just to make things look pretty, but to create something that feels connected to the past, while still being fresh and joyful.
Design in Living Spaces (Rugs/Home Design Philosophy)
Q: How do you incorporate your personal style into home design projects?
It just comes naturally to me. As a huge fan of patterns, I could easily envision my style translating into home design, creating spaces that feel both warm and inviting.
Q: What drew you to collaborate with our rug brand?
I was instantly captivated by the bold, colorful designs of the Lany Space rugs and felt that my art would be a perfect match. I was also excited to see some amazing artists collaborating in the mix.

Q: Could you share the story or concept behind the collection you designed for us?
This collection was inspired by a fun, spontaneous sunny afternoon in the studio. I was experimenting with a new way of drawing flowers, something more geometric and playful, with a bit of a Mario Bros vibe (just a hint of retro fun!). I ended up painting about 20 different flower designs, each with its own unique shape and energy. I thought they would make the perfect fit for an irregular-shaped rug, bringing a burst of color and a touch of whimsy to any room.
Q: Among the pieces in these collections, which design is your favorite, and why?
I love all my children the same, haha!
Q: If you could sum up this collection in three words, what would they be?
Colorful, retro, happy.
